The Bangkok International Motor Show has grown at an unprecedented rate since it was first conceived by Dr.Prachin Eamlumnow in the mid-senvenies. The first show was held in Lumpini Park in central Bangkok in 1979.
The success of the first show was so great that the second required a larger area to fit in all the exhibitors and visitors. Amphon Gardens was the location of the show from 1980 up until 1997. The show then needed to change location again, 1998 saw the showmove to its present location at BITEC, Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
This annual event features the latest concept and production cars and motorcycles. There are also a large number of activities ranging from rallies to off road competitions, tuning car contests to car audio shows and a wide variety of cars on show from local clubs.
